Elizabeth C. Kempf Schlatter, 91, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. Elizabeth worked with ITT Aero Space for 37 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Moose Lodge #261. She volunteered for Parkview Hospital for eight years. Surviving are her sons, Richard Kempf of Fort Wayne, Douglas Kempf of Avilla, step-sons, Duane Schlatter, Lynn Schlatter both of Fort Wayne, step-daughters, Joanne Stieren of Columbia City, Donna Young of Fort Wayne, sister, Norma Jean Geel of Fort Wayne, 5 grandchildren, 24 step-grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Elnora Hine, first husband Clarence Kempf, second husband, Clifford Schlatter, son, James Kempf, step-son, Roger Schlatter, siblings, Robert, Herbert and Leo Hine, Rosemary Geary, and Anna Gerdom. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 am, Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with calling one hour prior Fr. Benjamin Muhlenkamp officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road, Thursday from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm with a rosary service at 3:30 pm.
