    Notes:

    Mary E. Young, 87, of Keensburg IL, passed away on May 7, 2011 at her residence.

    She was born on February 14, 1924 in Mt. Carmel IL, the daughter of Benjamin and Hazel (Hollen) Howell.

    She married Howard M. Young on February 10, 1945 in Mt. Carmel, and he preceded her in death.

    Mary worked at the clothing factory for twelve years and also worked at the Senior Citizens Centers in Albion and Mt. Carmel. She also enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family.

    She is survived by one daughter Vickie E. Young of Mt. Carmel; three sons Howard M. and wife Karen Kay Young of Keensburg, Bennie L. and wife Carol Ann of Ohio and George M. and wife Karen Lynn Young of Mt. Carmel. Also surviving are four grandchildren Kevin Young, Cathy Ann and husband Kevin Sumansky, Allen and wife Lisa Young and Chris and wife Anne Young; four great grandchildren Kiara, Danielle, Rylee, and Theodore Young and several nieces and nephews.
    Special thanks to nieces Sue Seals and Pam Smith and friend Carolyn Spray for all their help.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one son Kenneth Chastine, one sister Lavon Phelps and one brother Kenneth Howell.

    Graveside services will be Thursday May 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

    Visitation will be from Thursday May 12, 2011 from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm at Short Funeral Home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to VNA-TIP Hospice, for all their help.
