Lynn M. Johnson

Lynn M. Johnson, age 47 of 72 Colorado St. - Box 183 Marion, Pa. died at 2:30 A.M. Saturday, September 4, 2010 in his home after a one year battle with cancer.

Born August 18, 1963 in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Arthur M. and Mabel M. (Negley) Johnson.

Lynn worked in graphic design and was a portrait artist. He also was a private art instructor.
Lynn was a member of the Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle. He enjoyed bicycling and was a member of the South Mountain Velo Club. He also enjoyed photography and being with his family and children.

Lynn was a 1981 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and received a diploma from the Pennsylvania School of the Arts of York, Pa. in 1984

He and his wife, Brooke A. (Purdy) Johnson were married October 19, 1996 in Calvary Bible Church.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are one son Ethan Lynn Johnson, at home, one daughter Mackenzie Laine Johnson, at home, one sister, Diane M. (wife of Robert) Whitmore, Greencastle, one brother Keith M. (husband of Michele) Johnson, Greencastle and three nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the Calvary Bible Church, 3845 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle with Pastor Richard Overcash officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle on Wednesday evening from 6 - 9 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lynn Johnson Children''s College Fund at Susquehanna Bank, 35 N. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa. 17225. Arthur M. Johnson

Arthur M. Johnson, age 84 of 814 Buchanan Trail East Greencastle, Pa. died at 8:20 P.M. Sunday, April 22, 2007 in the emergency room of the Chambersburg Hospital. He had been in declining health the last year.

Born August 2, 1922 in Letterkenny Twp. Franklin Co. Pa., he was the son of the late Stoey and Nannie Rebecca (Bricker) Johnson.
He worked as a supervisor for 30 years at the former H. J. Heinz Co. of Chambersburg and in his earlier years he farmed. After retiring, he was self-employed.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle. He was a member of the Greencastle Senior Mens Group and a member of the Heinz Retirees.

He and his wife, Mabel M. (Negley) Johnson were married December 23, 1950 in Greencastle. She died on June 18, 1978.

Surviving family are:

One Daughter, Diane M. (Wife of Robert) Whitmore, Greencastle, two sons, Keith M. (Husband of Michele) Johnson, Greencastle and Lynn M. (Husband of Brooke) Johnson, Marion, Pa.

Five Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a sister Pauline Pugh.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 26 at 2:00 P.M. from the Calvary Bible Church 3845 Buchanan Trail West Greencastle with Pastor Glen A. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Calvary Bible Church 3845 Buchanan Trail West Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
