1. | Richard Edward Fenker was born 26 Sep 1929, Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana, USA (son of Joseph Sylvester Fenker and Armella Hilaria A. Nix); died 3 Dec 2012, Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana, USA. Notes: Richard E. Fenker, 83, passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at Kindred Care in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne, the son of Joseph S. Fenker and Armella (Nix) Fenker and lived in Fort Wayne most of his life. He retired from Irmscher and Sons where he was employed as a construction superintendent for 44 years. During several of these years he also taught the Joint Carpenter Apprenticeship classes at Anthis Career Center for the Associated Building Contractors and Local 232. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 82 and a member of their swim club. He was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society at St. Charles and Knights of Columbus Council 432. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Fenker, daughters; Michelle M. Fenker, Elizabeth A. (Richard) Pusti, both of Fort Wayne, sons, Michael A. (Michele) Fenker of New Castle, Phillip G. (Rebecca) Fenker, Andrew S. (Shannon) Fenker both of Fort Wayne, 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers, James (Diane) of Fort Wayne, and Joseph of Wolcottville. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jane Bero, Carol Fenker, and brother Robert J. Fenker. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with calling one hour prior, Msgr John N. Suelzer officiating. Calling is Thursday, December 6, 2012 at D. O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road 2:30 pm - 8:00 pm with a rosary service at 2:30pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Wells County Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group, St. Charles Tuition Assistance Fund or Masses.
