- Donald D. Walston, 74, of East Alton, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Christian Hospital Northeast. Born May 17, 1928, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Lena M. (Kremer) Walston. He married Marjorie Smith Sept. 6, 1948 and she preceded him in death April 27, 1996. He then married the former Bobbie Wilson in Bethalto Dec. 26, 1997 and she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marjorie; and two sisters, Inarose Lewis and Olivene Fulmer.
Mr. Walston was a machine operator at Owens-Illinois, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an elder at the First Christian Church in Wood River for many years and a member of Glass Bottle Blowers Association.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, March 12, at the First Christian Church in Wood River. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Green Pond Cemetery in Pearl. Memorials may be given to the church or the American Lung Association.
