    • Marcelline Jane DeWitt, 87 of Roanoke, passed away Monday December 12, 2011 at 5:25 am at the Heritage of Huntington. She was a 1942 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. She was employed by Coil Engineering in Roanoke, Square D in Huntington, and Hunckler Products in Roanoke. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke, where she helped cook the senior dinners for years. She loved to cook, crochet and sew.

      Jane was born June 13, 1924 in Huntington, the daughter of Carl P. and Rosa (Karst) Meyer. On October 11, 1942 she married Edison DeWitt in Goblesville and he passed away March 23, 1996. She is survived by a daughter Linda (David) Molfenter of Fort Wayne, 3 sons Mike (Brenda) DeWitt of Huntington, Gary (Pam) DeWitt of Roanoke, and Brent (Kathy) DeWitt of Auburn, a daughter-in-law Janet DeWitt of Bluffton, 13 grandchildren Michelle (Kerry) Gentis, Matthew (Shannon) DeWitt, Beth (Cecil) Greck, Brian (Amy) Weaver, Michael (Erin) Molfenter, Jeremy (Olivia) DeWitt, Wesley (Sara) DeWitt, Alison (Chris) Labelle, Amy (Ben) Stoffel, Victoria (Jim) Hall, Christine DeWitt, Cortney (Luke) Miller, Candace (Mitch) Keller, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandchild, one brother Kenneth (Mary) Meyer of Huntington, one sister Marlene Call of Owosso, MI, and a sister-in-law Phyllis Meyer of Huntington. She was preceded in death by a son Ron DeWitt and a brother Harold Meyer.

      Visitation will be held Thursday December 15 from 2-7 pm at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday December 16 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Sarrazine officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

      Preferred memorials are to Roanoke Park Department, The Heritage of Huntington or Ron DeWitt Memorial Scholarship c/o Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke, IN 46783.
