    • July 22, 2010Obituary for Phyllis Jane (Sue) Pfister Phyllis ""Sue"" Pfister (83) died on July 21, 2010 at the Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN. Mrs. Pfister was born on March 25, 1927 In Huntington, IN to Henry J. and Lena Gelzleichter Scher. Her parents preceded her in death. Sue was a 1945 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. She married Julius R. (Jake) Pfister on September 4, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2002. Mrs. Pfister retired from First National Bank after many years of service. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. Sue belonged to the Clear Creek Happy Homemakers, Starlite Dance Club and was a volunteer at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Sue enjoyed traveling, collecting lighthouses, attending children and grandchildren's sporting events and time with family and friends. Survivors include: Three sons: Steven J. (Becky) Pfister, Huntington, IN; Thomas A. (Kathy) Pfister Wolcottville and Gregory M. (Mary) Pfister , Huntington, IN. Three daughters Mrs. George (Judy) Young, Andrews, IN; Mrs. Marlin (Debbie) Doctor Jr.and Mrs. Patrick (Pamela) Rorick , both of Huntington, IN. One sister: Marjorie Meyer, and two brothers: Eugene Scher and Richard T. Scher, all of Huntington, IN; Grandchildren: Steve (Amanda) Pfister, Lisa (Joel) Michel, both of Fishers, IN; Jennifer (Tim) Hermann McCordsville, IN; Rick (Christal) Pfister, Indianapolis, IN; Lori (Nick) Paulenich, So. Lyons, MI; Joel Pfister, Wolcottville, IN; Jeff Pfister, Indianapolis, IN; Julie Young, Morton, IL; Kate (Kevin) Baird, and Jake (Danielle) Doctor, both of Huntington, IN; Josh Doctor, Fort Wayne, IN and Ellen Rorick, Huntington, IN. Scher and one daughter-in-law Anne (Schacht) Pfister. Calling will be on Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the McElhaney """ Hart Funeral Home, 715 N Jefferson St, Huntington. Recitation of the rosary at 6:00 p.m. Additional calling one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN. Fr. Ron Rieder will preside.Burial will be at Mt.
