Larry David Jackson, 61 of Franklin died Friday, November 13, 2009 at Barton Stone Home in Jacksonville. He was born December 23, 1947 in Carrollton, the son of Harvey and Betty Eyer Jackson. He married Ruth Bernard May 23, 1992 and she survives.

He is also survived by four sons; Larry (wife, Betty) Jackson, Jr. of Benld, Marvin Jackson of Beardstown, Timothy Jackson of Jacksonville, Mike (wife, Michelle) Jackson of Watertown NY; three daughters; Amanda Jackson of Franklin, Tonya Hoots of Jacksonville, Janet (husband, Edward) McGrew of Cedar Lake, IN; four brothers Denny Jackson of Jacksonville, Darrell (wife, Sherri) Jackson of Florida; Harvey Jackson, Jr. of Hettick, Clyde (wife, Margaret ) Jackson of TN.; three sisters, Diane (husband, Bob) Bettis of Modesto, Penny Jackson of Waverly, Michelle Axley of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Omar; niece Abni; and great-grandchild Candace.

David made his living as a truck driver. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Services were entrusted to Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home of Waverly, Illinois.

Dennis L. Jackson, 66, of Jacksonville, IL, passed away Friday evening, August 4, 2017, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.
Dennis was born May 17, 1951, in Carrollton, IL, a son of Harvey Jackson and Betty Eyer Jackson Ford. Dennis graduated from Greenfield High School with the class of 1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Omar and David Jackson.
Dennis retired from Mobil Chemical Company in Jacksonville, IL after 25 years of employment. He was a member of Athensville Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, which he received several trophies, chess where he proclaimed to be the best in three counties, playing cards and most of all had a love for drinking beer. He provided his family with turkeys and hams at every holiday dinner and was an avid sports enthusiast watching baseball games and car races.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday,August 11, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra, IL where he will be laid to rest next to his parents and brothers.
Dennis is survived by his daughter, Marcy Jackson of Springfield, IL, brothers, Darrell Eyer of Jacksonville, FL, Clyde Jackson of Palmyra, IL, Harvey W. He was born Sept. 16, 1954, in Carrollton, son of the late Harvey and Betty Eyer Jackson. He married Margaret Bennett on Sept. 2, 1982, in Tooele, Utah and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Brandy Jackson (Nathan Shaffer) of Springfield, Tanya Warren (Brandon) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Betty Gray (Brad) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Jeremy Jackson (Katie) of Hamlin, New York; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane Bettis (Bob) of Modesto, Penny Jackson of Chatham, and Michelle Axley of Clarksville, Tennessee; brothers, Harvey "Bub" Jackson of Hettick, and Darold Eyer of Clermont, Florida; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, David, Omar and Dennis Jackson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 20 years as a mechanic and supply officer. He was a past employee of Hendrickson Trailer Co. in Clarksville, Tennessee. He moved back to the Palmyra area in 2011. He was a member of the Clarksville V.F.W. in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Stults-Neece Chapel in Palmyra. Burial will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery, where graveside military rites will be conducted by Palmyra American Legion Post. Abni Renee Jackson, 21, of Palmyra, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, in Macoupin County due to an auto accident. She was born April 12, 1988, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Harvey "Bub" Jackson and Grace "Ann" Rice.

She is survived by her father, Harvey Jackson of Hettick; her mother, Grace (husband, Chuck) Rice of Winchester; a sister, Miranda Jackson of Hettick; a stepbrother, Dylan Rice of Hall; and companion Nathan Crays of Palmyra.

She is a graduate of Northwestern High School and USCA (school of cosmetology). She worked as a hairdresser at MasterCuts Hair Salon in Springfield.

Palmyra woman killed in an auto accident

A Palmyra woman was killed early Saturday when a truck driven by an alleged drunken driver went off a Macoupin County road and flipped. Abni R. Jackson, 21, was pronounced dead at the accident scene on Nine Mile Road west of Virden.

Ms. Jackson was a front-seat passenger in an extended-cab pickup truck driven by Nathan M. Crays, 21, of Palmyra, Illinois State Police reported. She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The truck was westbound about 12:55 a.m. on Nine Mile Road when it went off the roadway about one-half mile west of Lead Line Road.

Mr. Crays and three other passengers — Cody A. Moore, 21, of Franklin; Randy J. Callarman, 20, of Modesto; and Logan T. Huson, 21, of Palmyra — suffered non-life-threatening injuries. None of the four were wearing seat belts. They were transported to St. John's Hospital in Springfield and discharged following treatment, a hospital spokesman said Saturday night.

Mr. Crays was cited on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions, improper lane usage and failure to wear a seat belt.
