    A retired beautician and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Gonzales. She was 81 and a native of Martinsburg, Ill. Visiting at Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield, Ill., on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Russell McGraw. Interment in Crescent Heights Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Ill. She is survived by a daughter, Janet Smith, San Francisco; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Phillip L. and Vera Smith, Gonzales; two sisters, Ellen Turnbull, of Griggsville, Ill., and Twila Fielder, of Osage Beach, Mo.; brother, Ronnie Harpole, of Griggsville; two grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James V. and Louella Burbridge Harpole. Local arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales.

    Wanda M. Smith, 81, of Gonzales, LA formerly of Pittsfield, IL. died on August 28, 2007 at the Gonzales Healthcare Center, Gonzales, LA. She was born on December 24, 1925, Martinsburg, IL to James Voshall and Louella Burbridge Harpole. Wanda was a retired beautician. Wanda moved to Gonzales, La in 1983. She was a member of Praise Family Church.
    Survivors: one son Dr. Phillip L. (wife Vera) Smith, Gonzales, LA., one daughter Janet L. Smith, San Francisco, CA., one brother Ronnie (wife Joyce) Harpole, Griggsville, IL and two sisters Mrs. Ellen (husband Norman) Turnbull, Griggsville, IL., and Twila Fielder, Osage Beach, MO, two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Russell McGraw officiating. Burial at the Crescent Heights Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 4 till 8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield, IL.
