    Notes:

    Annetta Nix Howell (88) of Roy Utah, passed away Febuary 1, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 20, 1931 in Blanding Utah to Jay and Lucile Nix.
    She was so proud of her pioneer heritage and told many stories of her childhood, she loved the desert where she was from and the mountains where she spent so much of her youth. Her family moved to Colorado in 1945, she called Fruita home the rest of her life.
    She married Rex Howell of Fruita, and moved to the Howell Ranch, they started their family and had 3 children in Colorado and moved to Utah in 1960, it was a hard move for her, with 2 small boys and a newborn daughter, they had 3 more children.
    She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the Gospel and had a strong testimony of the Savior. She loved her family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. She loved animals, gardening, and cooking. Her grandkids say she made gravy so good you could drink it.
    She is survived by her children Vern and Shelly Howell of Loma Colorado, Don and Jody Howell of Syracuse Utah, Ronda Howell and Kathy Howell of Roy Utah, Jared and Jodi Howell of Roy Utah and Chris and Amy Howell of West Point Utah, 17 grandchildren and their spouses, 25 great grandchildren and one on the way. Her sister Jayne Hawks of Fruita Colorado and many nieces nephews and friends that are also family,
    She was preceded in death by her Husband Rex, Her parents Jay and Lucile Nix, her brothers Paul Nix, Joel Nix, and brother in law Jerry Hawks.
    Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2019, at 11:30 AM at the Roy 14th Ward located at 5850 S. 2575 W. with a viewing at the church prior to services between 10 AM and 11:15 AM.

    Notes:

    Joel A. Nix November 14, 1939 - February 5, 2015 Joel A. Nix, 75, of Fruita, passed away on February 5, 2015, at home after a short battle with cancer. He was born on November 14, 1939, to William Jay and Lucile Johnson Nix in Blanding, Utah. After spending his childhood in Fruita and graduating from Fruita High School, Joel joined the United State Army. He served in Germany and Paris, France, as a radio transmission operator and a marksman. He was honorably discharged in December 1964. After coming home, he worked for the BLM from 1964 until 1967, when he joined his father and brother in running the Nix family dairy farm until 1988. He then went to work for the Grand Valley Water Users Association. He retired from there on August 31, 2014. Joel had many loves and hobbies, many of which included being outdoors. He cherished spending time with his wife and family. He also loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and hanging out with his lifelong best friend, Wayne Fisher, and good buddy, Bob Moberley. Joel leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Jennifer; children, Shawna Nix, Lynette (Gary) Murray, Nicole (Ed) Quigley, Joel (Katja) Nix, Mike (Christy) Nix, Bo Nix, and Jasmine Nix; 20 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sisters, Annetta Howell, Jane (Jerry) Hawks, and Patsy Nix, as well as numerous well-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Jay and Lucile; daughter, Jamie; brother, Paul; brother-in-law, Rex Howell; and best friend, Wayne Fisher. Joel is dearly loved and missed by all who knew him…until we meet again. Services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the LDS Church in Fruita, 343 E. Ottley Avenue at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the New Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita.
