    Dorothy Eileen Lionberger
    CHATHAM- Dorothy Eileen Lionberger, 78, of Chatham, formerly of Tuscola and Normal, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Heritage Healthcare. She was born September 1, 1936 in Robinson, to Clarence and Juanita Hupp Toliver. She was preceded in death by her grandson Kolin Lionberger. Dorothy married Warren Lionberger June 1, 1957. Mrs. Lionberger began her teaching career in Tuscola where she and her husband taught high school math. After moving to Springfield, she taught at Sacred Heart Academy, School District 186, and retired from the math department at Springfield College in Illinois.
    Together with her husband, Dorothy was an active member of Chatham United Methodist Church. They served as a presenting couple in the Christian Marriage Encounter. She was a Godly woman, who mentored and led many to prayer. She was a member of the finance committee, participated in bible studies and used her spiritual gifts to teach others. Mrs. Lionberger looked forward to the Christmas season, by decorating the Chrismon Tree with Christian symbols, representing a variety of biblical and theological concepts.
    She will be greatly missed by her husband, Warren, of Chatham; son, John E. Lionberger of Cypress, TX; daughter, Susan J. Lionberger (companion Melinda Lawson) of Springfield; grandchildren, Shannon Lionberger of Springfield, and Kelsi Lionberger of Lubbock, TX; brothers, Ed (Martha) Toliver of Pine, AZ and John (Pam) Toliver of Many, LA; sisters, Mary Lee (Robert) Stanfield of Mt. Vernon and Connie Warner of Wood River; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends.
    Visitation: Her family will greet friends from 4-7pm, Monday, November 10, 2014, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham and from 8-9am, Tuesday, November 11, at Chatham United Methodist Church, 104 West Chestnut, Chatham.
    Funeral: 9am, Tuesday, November 11, at Chatham United Methodist Church, with Rev. Sara Isbell officiating. Committal will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
