She was born on August 4, 1915 in Saco, Montana to James and Myrtle Goldman. She was married to Richard Werner and then Harold McDonald, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and James and one sister, Myrtle Waterman.

She is survived by and her children, Richard Werner of Tillamook, Charles Werner of McMinnville, May Werner of McMinnville, Tom Werner of Tillamook, Cleo Mondragon of Pomona, California, Cheryl Noel of Washington and Gary Werner; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Myrtle of Washington.
