Charles M. "Chuck" Hollen, 91, died Jan. 30, 2015 at Marquardt Manor in Watertown, Wisconsin.
Chuck was born to Everett and Fern Hollen on June 14, 1923 in Wellington. He lived most of his long life in Hoopeston.
After graduating from high school, Chuck enlisted in the Army Air Corp and served in Europe in World War II.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion for 70 years where he served as Commander and spent numerous years as a member of the Color Guard.
In his early years, he and his wife, Betty, ran the Hollen Grocery Store on West Main Street in Hoopeston. Chuck then worked at the Hoopeston train depot for the C&EI and CSX Railroads for over 30 years. In 2003, he and Betty moved to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to enjoy their retirement.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Betty (Riley) Hollen; son, Stanley (Beth) Hollen; daughter, Susan Baldwin; son, Steven (Brenda) Hollen; brother-in-law, Wayne (Sue) Riley; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George (Betty) Hollen.
