- He was born Sept. 16, 1954, in Carrollton, son of the late Harvey and Betty Eyer Jackson. He married Margaret Bennett on Sept. 2, 1982, in Tooele, Utah and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Brandy Jackson (Nathan Shaffer) of Springfield, Tanya Warren (Brandon) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Betty Gray (Brad) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Jeremy Jackson (Katie) of Hamlin, New York; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane Bettis (Bob) of Modesto, Penny Jackson of Chatham, and Michelle Axley of Clarksville, Tennessee; brothers, Harvey "Bub" Jackson of Hettick, and Darold Eyer of Clermont, Florida; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, David, Omar and Dennis Jackson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 20 years as a mechanic and supply officer. He was a past employee of Hendrickson Trailer Co. in Clarksville, Tennessee. He moved back to the Palmyra area in 2011. He was a member of the Clarksville V.F.W. in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Stults-Neece Chapel in Palmyra. Burial will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery, where graveside military rites will be conducted by Palmyra American Legion Post.
