- Memorial services for Russell K. Carlile, age 82, Coweta, OK, will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of the Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Russell "Russ" Kay Carlile, was born in Dodge City, Kansas on August 16, 1928, the son of Earl Marvin Carlile and Opal Audrey (Truex) Carlile. He graduated from Fowler High School, Fowler, Kansas in 1946 and attended Dodge City Junior College. Russ married Margie (Rogers) on August 17, 1947 in Dodge City, Kansas and together they had three wonderful children: Ronald Lee, Janis Kay and Jill Marie. He was employed by Prudential and transferred to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1959. After three years, he was offered a position with State Farm Insurance in June of 1961, and he worked as an agent for thirty-two and a half years. He had a rewarding profession from his employment with State Farm and was a life producer for twenty-four years producing a million in life insurance each year. He obtained his goals by hard work, perseverance and faith in God and made many lifelong friends with his clients and the State Farm Family. Before his retirement with State Farm in December, 1993, he married Carolyn (Martin) on December 27, 1991 in Eureka Springs, AR, and they lived in Tahlequah, OK until later moving to Coweta, OK in November, 2004. Russ was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Russ Carlile passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon, September 21, 2010. He was 82 years old. Those preceding him in death include his parents; step-father, Arthur L. Handy; four brothers, Lesly Carlile, Bill Carlile, Morris Handy and Art Handy. Those left to cherish his memory include his immediate family, his loving wife, Carolyn; son, Ronald Carlile; daughters, Janis Yearout Overstreet and husband Eldon, and Jill Howell and husband Alan; seven grandchildren, Jeff Yearout and wife Gina, Tim Yearout and friend Jennifer Manning, Greg Yearout and wife Brandi, Brian Carmincke and wife Katy, Brett Carmincke, Catherine Howell and Nathan Howell, all of Oklahoma City; five great-grandchildren, Preston, Peyton and Eli Yearout, and Dallas and Jentezen Smith, all of Oklahoma City, OK. Other family members include his sisters, Shirley Marrs and husband Louis of Sun City, AZ, Charlette Holt and husband Jack of Wichita, KS; his brother, Melvin Handy and wife Betty of Elkhorn, WI; and special cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends and loved ones. He will be remembered for his generous and loving spirit and cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
