    • Charles R. Coffin, 84, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 at 11:05 a.m. in Union Hospital. He retired after over 45 years with Hulman and Company. Charles was born April 4, 1926, in Danville, Ind. to Clifford C. Coffin and Ethel J. (Sallee) Coffin.. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. (Trout) Coffin; two sons: Jeffrey Alan Coffin and his wife Teresa of Bloomfield and Charles R. Coffin, Jr. of Riley; a daughter: Tracey L. Akers and her husband Steve of Brazil; two brothers: Darrell D. Coffin and Clifford E. Coffin both of Terre Haute; a sister: Mary A. Mattox of Terre Haute; six grandchildren: Michelle Feutz, Christina, Stephanie, Lyndsey, Jill A. Coffin, and Charles R. Coffin III; and two great-grandchildren: Kendyl and Joelie Feutz.. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Pauline Crawford.. Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a member of Lawton-Byrum Post 972 VFW, Wayne Newton American Legion Post 346, Lost Creek Senior Citizens, and Thousand Trails.. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, in Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave., with funeral services at 4 p.m. with Pastor Brent Meyer of Bloomfield officiating. Private family burial is scheduled for a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by VFW Post 972.Published on August 6, 2010
