    • Maxine L. Skinner, age 84, of Henderson, Ky, passed away at 8:19 PM, Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
Maxine was born just before the Great Depression, on March 26, 1929, to Porter and Myrtle Hollen. Both of her parents worked on their family farm, her mother was a homemaker and later her father worked for the railroad. Maxine was introduced to Thomas Skinner by a friend while in high school. The two became high school sweet hearts and married on September 10, 1948. They had four children together, one daughter and three sons. They were married for 55 years when Thomas passed away in 2003.
Maxine worked at Henderson Home Federal Savings and Loan for over 25 years. She started out as a teller and eventually moved all the way up to Vice President for the bank. Maxine had the patience of a saint. She was a member at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church since the early 1960’s. Maxine was very active within the church, right up until a few months ago. She was known for having the coffee and donuts ready on Sunday morning. After the church, family was most important, especially the grandbabies and whatever they wanted to do, watch, or play.
Mrs. Skinner was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Skinner, sons Mike Skinner and Dan Skinner, and parents.
Survivors include: 1 Son: Jeffrey Tim Skinner of Henderson, KY; 1 Daughter: Alicia Skinner Goolsby of Henderson, KY; 2 Brothers: John Hollen and wife Sue of Princeton, IN
