    • The subject of this sketch and life was the second daughter of Jacob and Nancy Wise. She was born near Orrstown, Pennsylvania, on February 5, 1842, and died at the home of her son, T. Z. Minehart, in Chambersburg on February 15, 1938, aged 96 years and 10 days.

She was married to Jacob Sherman Minehart on January 1, 1867, and to this union were born four children; Thomas Z. Minehart, Charles D. Minehart, Mary E. Minehart (who died at the age of three years) and John R. Minehart who died on May 10, 1932.

Catherine Minehart joined the Lutheran Church at Pleasant Hall and held membership there during her entire life. She taught in the Sunday school of the church and was active in all of its departments until 1932. From that time she resided with her son, Thomas Z. Minehart, and when health permitted she attended the services of the First Lutheran Church in Chambersburg.

Her husband was a miller and he owned and operated a mill in Lurgan Township, near Pleasant Hall. He died on May 24, 1890.

Mrs. Minehart was charitable and kind and she retained all of her faculties until the time of her death.

She is buried at Pleasant Hall Cemetery.
