    • Obituary for David James Reust
      David James Reust, age 78, of Huntington, died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2020 at his home.

      Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana; rosary services will be held at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey-Love Mortuary immediately prior to visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2020 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, Indiana, with Father Tony Steinacker and Father David Ruppert officiating. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.

      Preferred memorials are to Historic Forks of the Wabash, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

      A lifelong resident of Huntington, Dave was born on April 16, 1941, the son of Henry and Catherine (Ness) Reust. He graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1960 and married Mary “Toots” Solloway on February 8, 1964 in Huntington. Dave spent his 46-year career at Noll Printing/Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington. Away from the printing press, he was a grower, a tinkerer, and a collector. He had a passion for tractor engines, signs, and mushroom hunting, and he loved meeting others who shared his interests, as long as they didn’t divulge the best mushroom hunting spots to anyone else.

      Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary C. Reust of Huntington, daughters Angela (John) Richert of Berne, Lisa (Scott) Rosener of Bargersville, and Julia (Erik) Botts of Indianapolis, and sons Rick (Honey Walters) Reust of Sacramento, California, Nicholas (Dona) Reust of Huntington, and Cory (Amy) Reust of Columbia City. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Catherine Purdy of Fort Wayne, brothers, Mark (Phyllis) Reust and Lee (Marilyn) Reust, both of Huntington and Harold (Ellie) Reust of Yoder, 15 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Alberta Hine, and brothers Bernard Reust, Henry Reust, Paul Reust, Edward Reust, William Reust, and Thomas Reust.
