- Marjorie Joan Gorrell, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away on January 12, 2015. Born on November 7, 1927, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Barva. A member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, she was a graduate of Northside High School, in 1945, she retired from Magnavox after 29 years of service and was a member of the Magnavox Quarter Century Club. She is survived by her children, Jim “JJ” Alles and Cheri (Daniel) Heimann; grandchildren, Lance Alles, Nathan (Jenny) Heimann, Alicia (Nathaniel) Eaton and Keith Heimann; great-grandchildren, Christian Alles, Brian Eaton, Joseph Eaton and Zachary Heimann; sisters, Patty (Jim) Nagle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gorrell; and siblings, Jim Barva, Mary Margaret Boehme, Barbara Blair and Betty Boisentett. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Thursday January 15, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Wednesday January 14, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with Rosary service at 4pm. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, following the service on Thursday, at the Junction of CoRd 68 and Co Rd. 11A, Garrett. Memorial donations may be given to St. Charles Catholic School Tuition Fund.
