      Eldon Eugene Fox, 99, died Thursday October 12, 2017 at The Coventry at Belle Meade.

      Mr. Fox was born in Greeley, Colorado in 1918 and raised in Denver, CO and Beverly Hills, CA.

      He graduated Cum Laude from Dartmouth College in 1940 where he had been president of the Student Governing Body and received a National Honorary Scholarship to Harvard Graduate School of Business.

      Drafted in 1942, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Army, and served in the Central Pacific Command. He was discharged in 1946 as a Captain in Field Artillery and awarded the Bronze Star for organizing and commanding the First Provisional Special Training Company.

      Mr. Fox began his business career in New York City with Young & Rubicam Advertising Agency. He was later employed by Honeywell Inc, Ford Motor Company Edsel Division, and The Bendix Corporation as Corporate Vice President for Public Relations and Advertising. In 1969 he joined AMF Inc. in New York City as Corporate Vice President for Public Affairs and retired in 1982, moving to the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst.

      He was predeceased by his wife Celeste C. Hoddinott from his first marriage and is survived by their children from that marriage Jeffery, Gregory and Lorrie.

      There are no survivor’s from his second marriage to the late Nancy Kilmartin.

      At his request no services will be held. Mr. Fox will be placed in the columbarium niche at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
