Ronald "Ron" Bradburn, 82, of Pittsfield passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Liberty Village in Pittsfield. Ron was born on September 18, 1933 in Pike County, a son of the late Donald "Vernon" and Mildred Aleen Peebles Bradburn. He married Barbara Sowers on June 3, 1951 in the Milton Christian Church by the late Joe T. Maynard. Ron was a member of the Pittsfield First Christian Church; an active twenty-eight year member of the Pittsfield Masonic Lodge #790 A.F. & A.M.; a member of the Pike County Shrine Club and a member of Steak Club. Ron had served on the board of the Old Orchard County Club and had been a member since 1961. Ron served as State Vice President of the Jaycees and also served on the Public Health Department Environmental Advisory Board. Ron graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1950. In 1955 he opened his own business, Bradburn Electric. In 1968 he and Rex Fenton formed B&R Mechanical with Ron taking full ownership in 1969 until present. Ron loved to golf and played golf with the same Friday night group for forty years and in later years they continued their friendship by playing dominos. He enjoyed fishing and loved to go fishing with his grandchildren whom he adored. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of Pittsfield; a son, Donald (Susan) Bradburn of Pittsfield; a daughter, Connie Bradburn of San Diego, CA; two grandsons, Dr. Christopher Cole (Casey) Bradburn of Clayton, N.C. and Dr. Joshua Levi Bradburn of Wilmington, N.C.; two great grandsons, Cillian Luke and Collin Cole Bradburn; in addition to a sister, Linda (Philip) Bradshaw of Griggsville. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Pittsfield with Pastor Michael TenEyck officiating. Masonic services will be held at 8:45 a.m. accorded by the Pittsfield Masonic Lodge #790 A.M. & F.M. with visitation to follow until time of service. Interment will be in the Greenpond Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to be made to Shriners Hospital or Unity Hospice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
