    • Kay Lynn Jaxtheimer, loving mother and grandmother, departed this world Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Born in Huntington, IN, to George and Edna (Hendry) Casper, she graduated with honors from South Side High School and married William Jaxtheimer in 1957. Kay worked many years in the Banking field before switching to Data Processing with Verizon. She retired in 1983 as a Data Operations Supervisor. Kay and Bill moved to Adams Lake, where Kay worked another six years as the manager of Quiltmakers in Shipshewana, IN. She also served as a secretary to the Retail Merchants Association there. She had a big garden with many varieties of vegetables and herbs. Bill died in 1999 and she moved back to Fort Wayne to be near her children. Cooking was always her first love and she collected thousands of recipes and cookbooks. When she could no longer stand on her legs, she continued cooking sitting on a stool with wheels. During her retirement years, Kay read hundreds of books, mainly mysteries. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Laurie) and Tom "Jack Hammer" (Jennifer) Jaxtheimer; grandchildren, Jessica, Kelsey, Jacob, Taylor and Jillian; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Ann. Service is at 11:00 am, Friday, April 29, 2016 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, April 28, 2016, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Entombment in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
