    • MARY EILEEN "MARLENE" METTER CROSBY, 90, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Saint Anne Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker. She was a charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church and it's Rosary Sodality, member of University of St. Francis Guild and their bridge program and Perpetual Adoration Chapel of St. Jude's. She volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital for 32 years and also at the Red Cross. Survivors include daughters, Mary Elaine (Robert W. deceased) O'Brien and Kathy (Bill) Miller, both of Fort Wayne, and Martha (Mike) Offerle of Memphis, Tenn.; son, Patrick (Elaine) Crosby of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grand-children; and sister, Mercedes (John) Krueger of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin "Bob" Crosby, in 1984; daughter, Ellen Elizabeth; grandson, Michael; parents, Clem and Kathryn (Nix) Mettler; sister, Connie Kuttner; and brother, R. Donald Mettler. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church, E. State at Randallia, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Thomas Shoemaker officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with Vigil at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
