    • Michael Lee Knies, 59 of Litchfield Park, passed away peacefully in his home on February 10, 2007. Michael was a leader, teacher, coach, mentor, & champion golfer with 3 hole in ones during his career. Above all he was a loving husband, devoted father, wonderful grandfather, and loyal friend. He is survived by his beloved wife Michele, children Melissa (Paul) Langowski, Heather Spring, Michael Knies, Melissa Spring (Alan Conrad), Emily Knies (Larry Brown), grandchildren Ashley, Elizabeth, Alyssa, Nicholas, Nikolai, parents Chuck & Hazel Knies and Gloria Foster, brother Jeff Knies, sisters Sandy Bonk & Debbie Levendoski, stepsisters Lynn Benson & Diana Poppe and stepbrother Kevin Ostern. A Visitation will be held from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 16th, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 830 East Plaza Circle in Litchfield Park, Arizona. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to LaWana Morris of Green Acres Glendale Mortuary (623) 939-8321.Published in The Arizona Republic on Feb. 14, 2007
