- Randy Boes, age 63, passed away on Thursday June 14, 2012 at his home in Tipton, IN. He was born in Elwood, IN on March 22, 1949 to Cecil and Becky (Evans) Boes. Randy was a very proud veteran of the United States Army. He served two tours of active duty in Viet Nam, 1969-1970 and then again in 1971-1972. He had signed up for a third tour but all US involvement ceased before his third deployment. Randy had been employed for a short time at Delco in Kokomo and had tended bar at the Junction in Tipton for over 20 years. He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars in Elwood, American Legion Post 46 in Tipton, and the Howard County Viet Nam Veterans Organization of Howard County. Randy loved riding around, it was not unusual to see him on his golf cart, in his Corvette or on a Harley heading out to spend time with family and friends. It didn’t matter to Randy what was going on in his life, he always made time for his friends. Survivors include his mother, Becky Albright of Tipton, two sons; Bill Kaiser of Tipton and Olin Boes of Missouri. Also surviving are three sisters; Debbie Harrison of Arcadia, Tracy Boyles of Kirklin, Delora Sullivan of Tipton, a brother Robin Boes of Sharpsville, and a very special niece, Heidi Sullivan of Tipton. He was also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his father, a son Mark Boes, and a brother Terry Boes. A memorial service in Randy’s honor will take place at 4 PM on Saturday June 23, 2012 at the Howard County Viet Nam Veterans Organization campgrounds located on State Road 26 in Howard County.
