Age 62, of Lake Station, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, June 13, 2010 after a lifelong battle against multiple illnesses. Ron was a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident and graduate of River Forest High School, class of 1966. He worked for Walsh Construction and Molenar's Harley-Davidson Shop in Hammond. Ron was a lifelong Harley-Davidson enthusiast and also owned Ron's Custom Cycle in Valparaiso. He enjoyed guitars, music and Rock & Roll. His doctors referred to Ron as a "medical miracle" and each day with him was an unforgettable gift to all who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Betty L. Carns of Lake Station, son, William Carns of Chicago, IL; daughter, Jamie Carns (fiancé Christopher Breese) of Valparaiso; grandson, Deegan Breese; 2 brothers, Michael Carns of Valparaiso and Jeffrey (Carmen) Carns, all of Portage; sister, Marsha (Larry) Wurtzel of Hobart; favorite aunt, Fern Goodwin of Hobart; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. His father, Margel Roy Carns preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev.
