    • Boyd A. Plake, 78, of West Lafayette, died at 4:52 AM Friday, October 26, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 7, 1934, in Tipton, to the late David A. and Alice M. Crum Plake.

      He served in the United States Air Force. On Decemeber 1, 1962, he married Mary Jo Waters at St. Patrick Church in Kokomo.

      Boyd was a member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Edwood Glen CC and Elks in Tipton. He enjoyed playing golf, having 11 holes in one, watching sports, Purdue University and his dog Sadie.

      Surviving along with his wife; is a son Michael J. Plake (wife Kimberly) of West Lafayette; two granddaughters Kathryn Plake, Anna Plake both of West Lafayette; two brothers Phillip Plake (wife Frieda) and James A. Plake (wife Jane) both of Tipton.

      He was preceded in death by a sister Karen S. Rich; and 3 brothers, Dartis T. Plake, Gerald Plake and David Plake.

      Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday October 29, 2012, at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel 1184 Sagamore Parkway W. West Lafayette, IN 47906. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 3012, at Church of the Blessed Sacrament 2224 Sacramento, West Lafayette, IN 47906 with Fr. David Buckles officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
