- Dennis J. “Denny” Mick, age 68, of Huntington, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday (June 26, 2010) at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne.
Denny was born on July 20, 1941, in Huntington, the son of Ralph Mick and Annabel (Shroyer) Feigel. Denny was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and loved to prepare food for the Open Door Organization with the church. On February 4, 1961, he married Donna Kastner in the Queen of Angles Catholic Church in Ft. Wayne.
Denny retired on December 31, 2008 from the Huntington County Plan Commission after working 18 years as building inspector. He also was a retired Huntington City Fireman from (1965 -1990). He served as Fire Chief for 6 years (1984-1990). He had worked for the Schmalzried Construction Company for over 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years – Donna Mick of Huntington; one son - Dennis Todd (Angie) Mick of Ft. Wayne; one daughter – Tiffany (Timothy) Albertson of Huntington; one brother – Kent J. (Judy) Mick of Roanoke; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday (June 30, 2010) from 2-8 p.m at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive with Rosary Services at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (July 1, 2010) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 903 North Jefferson Street with Father John Pfister officiating. There will be no burial or graveside services.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Open Door or to the Cancer Services of Huntington County, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana 46750.
