    • JOAN F. NIX, 86, was called home and saw the face of Jesus on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017. Born May 26, 1931, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucille Kohrman. Joan graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 10 years. In her earlier years she enjoyed spending time with family at Crooked Lake. Joan loved spending time at her home on Lake Valentine. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and belonged to Pinochle Club, Nurses Association, and Luers Bingo Bunch. She enjoyed playing Bridge and various card games. She enjoyed doing needle point and cross stitch and making ornaments for her grandchildren. Her loving home was always open to friends and family with whom she greatly enjoyed spending time and making memories. Surviving are her children, Sue Iannucilli, Daniel (Melissa) Nix, Christopher (Barbara) Nix, and Jennifer (Christopher) Kurek; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, William Kohrman and Thomas Korhman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Nix; siblings, Theresa Bowers, Joseph Kohrman, Leo Korhman, Carolyn Krider, and Delores Korhman; and son-in-law, Jon Iannucilli. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46804), with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46804), with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Burial will take place in the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church for Masses or donations, or Matthew 25.
