- SUSAN E. KNIES Norton Area, near Hillham formerly of Gary, Indiana Susan E. Knies, age 84 years, of the Norton Area, near Hillham, Indiana and formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away at her residence at 6:45 P.M. on Wednesday, June 8, 2005. Susan was born on March 6, 1921 in Norton, Indiana to Evert and Maude (nee Wininger) Bledsoe. On March 2, 1942, Susan married the late Paul R. Knies. He passed away on January 12, 1974. Susan was a Homemaker and managed a Trailer Park that they owned in Gary, Indiana. She also previously worked at Crane. She loved to travel and became a snowbird, wintering in California and Arizona. Susan loved to play the piano. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at her Church. She quilted, sewed, upholstered furniture, did carpentry, and was the "Architect" of her home. She was a member of Cane Creek Christian Church. Susan was a 1939 Graduate of Cuzco High School. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Marvin Bledsoe. Susan is survived by her two sons, Myron Knies of Jasper, Indiana and Dan (Susie) Knies of Norton, Indiana; two daughters, Paula (Jay) Kable of Scottsdale, Arizona and Linda Robertson of Norton, Indiana; one sister, Norma Palmer of Scottsdale, Arizona; four grandchildren, James Knies of Norton, Indiana, Erica Robertson of Celestine, Indiana, Stacy Hamilton of Scottsdale, Arizona and Karen Kerr of Scottsdale, Arizona; and three great grandchildren. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, June 11, 2005 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., one hour prior to the Funeral Services, on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at Cane Creek Christian Church in French Lick, Indiana.
