- BROGUE Helen L. (Desenberg) Sipe, 84, entered into eternal rest after a brief illness on Monday, June 24, 2013, at 8:20 a.m. at Manor Care South. She was the wife of William E. Schroll who entered into rest on March 28, 2009, and David H. Sipe who entered into rest on May 2, 2001. She was born in York on July 15, 1928, the daughter of the late William P. and Helen C. (Wise) Desenberg. Helen was a Sales Clerk at the former Collinsville Discount Center for 35years until they closed their doors. She was a member of Rainbow Chapter #517 Order of the Eastern Star in Red Lion, Red Lion American Legion #543 Ladies Auxiliary, AARP, a Lifetime member of the Collinsville Fish and Game where she was very active with the trout, a 30 plus year member of McKendree United Methodist Church in Airville. She is survived by two daughters, Helen "Susie" E. Glatfelter of Airville and her husband, Melvin and Reba A. Waltemyer of Windsor and her husband, James; four grandchildren, Barry L. Taylor and Melissa A. Taylor, both of Red Lion, Terry L. Waltemyer of York, and Stacy R. Strausbaugh of Red Lion; three great-grandchildren, LaDainnia and Cameron Strausbaugh, Gavin Waltemyer and his new baby sister who is due to arrive next week, Kendall Waltemyer; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The Rainbow Chapter #517 OES, will honor Helen with a service. at 7:45 p.m. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael G. Trimmer, pastor of Getchelville United Methodist Charge will officiate. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to: McKendree UM Church, c/o- the "Social Hall", 3708 Delta Road, Airville, PA 17302; or to the Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Health Foundation, 912 S. George St., York, PA 17403. Helen loved to read and work on crossword puzzles. She enjoyed going to the mountains, fishing, NASCAR fan watching the race with her daughter. She was the best Mother and Grandmother who always made sure her family was first in her life. We love and will miss you greatly.
